Prep Technician & Social Media Coordinator
Responsibilities:
Operations:
Pull, scan, and maintain organization of all equipment orders
Double check on any potential incompatibilities, conflicts, or gaps when filling an order
Assist in the load out of rental packages
Maintain an understanding of specs and uses of rental inventory
Be able to assist camera assistants with camera rigging, troubleshooting, additions, and drops during preps as needed
Relay potential repair issues found during preps to the Service Department
Ensure equipment is in the proper bins and/or cases in the storage areas
Restock dropped equipment from preps
Secondary Duties:
Set up and participate in hosted company events
Help with gear returns and outgoing shipments as needed
Be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of prep floor and equipment rooms
Participate in team meetings and daily huddles as assigned
Social Media:
Run our main social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and the newsletter) focusing on consistent posting, audience engagement, and growing our following.
Understand the main goals of our online image: focus on people, promote new gear, always encouraging people to come in, etc
Work with the Rental Coordinators and General Manager to think of content / event ideas
Create visually appealing graphics and take photos during preps
Put together a monthly newsletter email with current events, announcements, and specials
Qualifications:
Knowledge of motion picture cameras and related equipment/accessories
Ability and willingness to learn and self-educate about new and upcoming equipment
Exceptional customer service skills (friendly, courteous, responsive, and resourceful)
Production experience is a plus
Knowledge of social media etiquette, posting, and basic visual aesthetics
Software knowledge: Lightroom, Photoshop, possibly Canva.com, Mailchimp
Photography and basic photo editing skills is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Lifting up to 40-50 lbs. of cases and/or equipment
Sitting and standing for long periods of time
Potential overtime required
Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the Rental Coordinators and General Manager
Renewal:
This role and the responsibilities under it are subject to change. During the evaluation process, the role will be amended bi-yearly to account for such changes and realign success measures.
